The cost of wedding flowers

Creating an arch in my studio in Hillsboro Wisconsin

People wonder why wedding flowers are so expensive.

Hours and hours of extra steps go in to creating the floral art for the big event

One of the reasons is that the flowers themselves are at an all time high. Its the world market, the crazy global economy, fuel prices, South American farms deciding to pay their laborers a better wage, so many things. And if you buy from US farms, the prices are automatically higher because laborers in America demand a better wage.

Wash buckets and keep track of your clippers!!

Then there is the florists time and experience. I already have at least 4 full days of work into this event. Consulting, planning, purchasing, processing, designing, clean up, transportation, set up and breakdown.

Knowing just how to handle and process delicate flowers make a florist’s services invaluable!

When you hire a florist, you are paying for all of these skills and the labor as well as the flowers themselves.

So take a minute and look through the process of my day today. And this was just the arch! I spent a full day yesterday on bouquets and sorting organizing flowers.

Luscious Local Lilacs from Driftless Wisconsin were the focal flower for this design

You pay a good florist for her experience, knowledge, design skills, studio space, business expertise, and SO much more

We climb all kinds of ladders for the sake of your ceremony

Yes, absolutely, DIY or Costo can be cheaper. But true floral art by an experienced florist is a beautiful gift you can give to yourself or a loved one on their special day.

It is absolutely my joy, privilege and passion to create for you!

The only thing better than designing is seeing it all come together on the big day!
